Is there a "Show in Finder" feature for Lightroom CC?

Greetings!

I recently migrated to Lightroom CC from Classic, and I love just about everything about it, except two things I can't figure out:

  • How to locate the original on disk (e.g., in Lightroom Classic, you'd right-click and choose "Show in Finder"), and
  • Whether it's possible to click and drag multiple video clips into Premiere, which I use for stitching together sequences.

I could work around the latter if it were easier to browse to a file from within a grid or thumbnail view (or even detail the view), but it feels a bit like Lightroom CC is trying to hide my original from me, which seems odd. Assuming I haven't just failed to locate this feature, can anyone say whether it's coming in a future revision?

Thanks! Otherwise, I'm really happy with the service.

Christian

There is no "Show in Finder" feature in Lightroom CC. Not sure about drag/drop into Premiere. Haven't tried it, but I suspect it isn't supported or will be rather slow.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I wonder if someone from the Lightroom CC team can speak to whether a show-in-Finder feature might be coming in a future release? I ask because it might push me to go back to Lightroom Classic, since my workflow sort of relies on being able to locate these originals as easily as I could before switching.

I don't work for Adobe but I can tell you with certainty that they never comment on planned new features in future versions of their software.

They only ever announce new features when they ship them. When that might be is anyone's guess. Until then all you can do is find workarounds or, it it's critical to you, use different software.

No “Show in Finder” is available, because the originals are stored in the Cloud on Adobe’s servers

Thanks everyone for the help! I think I've figured this out.

Since I also have Lightroom Classic, the photos and videos in my Lightroom CC library can be synced back down to my computer into Classic, allowing me to use the same workflow I used before switching. So far, so good -- seems to work well.

Could you elaborate on what you did? If I'm understanding correctly, the new Lightroom actually moved my originals into the cloud?

Yes, that is what the new Lightroom CC is all about, original images in the cloud. If that isn't what you're looking for then you need to be using Lightroom Classic CC. It is the program that is the more "traditional" Lightroom that stores images in folders locally on your computer.
