Keywords - Accessing and Editing list

Explorer ,
Jan 29, 2021 Jan 29, 2021

How do I get an editable list of all keywords in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom or Bridge?  I have a lot of keywords, many of them redundant as they were originally generated in transfers from Aperture and iPhoto, also I want to organise keywords more systematically, remove duplicates etc.

I am migrating from Classic to Cloudy, and found I had to go back to Classic to get a list of keywords.

The ability to at least export the list of keywords is very useful.

Adobe, why removing such an essential feature as keyword list? If you leave possibility to users to add keywords to images, why not enable the way to manage them or to browse images by keyword?

Is there anyway to enable this in Lightroom 5.1? Is it coming anysoon in Lightroom 5?

I do not intend in anyway to switch between Classic and the current version.

Thank you.

Hey, @kathyb22473636, welcome to the Community! Unfortunately, you can't rename a keyword at the moment. However, you can filter all the photos with a specific keyword, add the correct keyword, and then delete the incorrect one.

In Lightroom, type the keyword you want to correct into the search bar at the top; it will filter all the photos with that keyword. Next, open the keyword panel at the bottom right to see the keywords applied to the photo. Add the new keyword with the correct spelling while selecting all the images, then delete the misspelled keyword.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, Alek. That's better than no option! Sometimes i wonder if the
engineers really use these programs. We need the option. Another one id
like to see in Photoshop (and Ive let Adobe know in their surveys) is with
the selection tool (the little tiny circle that lets you know you are back
to the starting point) should be more pronounced. It doesn't hurt to dream.

Hi @kathyb22473636!

I understand your frustration. While I'm not on the team that decides which features to include in the new builds, you can still make your voice heard. If you haven't already, consider creating a new thread with your suggestions on the Ideas Board on Adobe Community. Based on the number of upvotes those threads from the Community receive, the dev team decides which new features to prioritize, so making a thread with your feedback is worthwhile.

Thanks!

Alek
