My Lightroom has gotten to a point to where it constantly lags on my 5K Studio Display. Every time I cycle through the images, it doesn't show it right away. The preview chronically flickers to black, and I have to constantly fight it just to make it work. I have an M2 Max CPU w/32GB of RAM, so it's not as if I have a slow Mac. I have confirmed it only occurs on the 5K display and not on the laptop screen. Somebody please tell me how I can fix this...it goes without saying I spend way too much money on my equipment and this software just to have it bug out on me every day.

I have the same configuration as you, although the MBP has more memory (but that shouldn't make any difference), and I'm not seeing any display lag when using either version of Lightroom. How have you connected the Studio Display, directly to one of the TB4 ports on the MBP, or via a hub/dock station?

Directly to the Mac. No docking station. Using Apple's TB4 cable.

Sorry, I can't think of anything that could be causing that. I had thought that maybe the delay was caused by the images being downloaded from the cloud (assuming you are using the Lightroom desktop app, not Lightroom Classic), but that can't be the case if the problem doesn't exist when using the MBP's screen.
Unlikely, but maybe there's a problem with the cable? Do you have another that you could try?

So I will say this: setting "Use Graphics Processor" to "Off" under Preferences seems to have fixed my issue. You'd think having it on would help performance, but apparently that's not the case. Hope that helps anyone else experiencing this.
