i've purchased lightroom on my Macbook and no access for the premium features on my Iphone lightroom, however i connected the two accounts together

Two accounts? It will only work if you log in on both places using the exact same account. Note that you will lose all your images on the iPhone if you log onto another account there.

If are signed in with the subscribed account on your computer and see no premium service, I wonder...
Did you subscribe on a mobile device?  If so, that's a Lightroom Mobile Premium subscription that will work on all iOS and Android devices and any web browser at lightroom.adobe.com.  If you need Lightroom on Mac or Windows, you can find plans that include those plus mobile at https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/photography/compare-plans.html  

Please cancel your mobile plan if you do start a desktop+mobile subscription.
