Lightroom (not Classic), how to select all photos not in a collection

New Here ,

I am trying to free up some cloud space, as i keep getting nagged that i am approaching my limit

Initially i tried to delete some old collections/folders (whatever they are called these days), but it seem this simply deletes the folder, not the photos contained within

So i am now trying to filter all photos not currently in a collection, so that i can bulk select and delete

This seems like such a simple process, but is somehow eluding me, any help would be very much appreciated

Try this: In the Search bar, start typing "not in any album:" (without quotes). As soon as you've completed the first word, you should see a list of entities shown below the search bar, near the top will be "Not in any album". Click on that and the grid will show all the photos that aren't in any album.

BUT, how the heck is anyone meant to know this without having to ask in the first place?

Don't respond with just a "Me too" or "Me not"  without any more information. Nobody can help you based on such a remark. Show a screenshot or explain in detail what you are trying to do and what does (not) happen. Give version numbers of Lightroom and your OS. And are you sure that you do have images that are not in any album? Maybe you don't, so this is the expected result...

tried this in Lr (latest version) on my iPhone in Lightroom section - All photos. Typed in "not in any album:" (without quotes) and it doesn't work.

I don't see it either, also not in Lightroom for iPad. I'm not sure if it ever existed in Lightroom Mobile however. This thread is about Lightroom desktop (the cloud version for your computer, not the mobile version).

I just checked: this option is only available in Lightroom desktop, the cloud version for your computer, not in Lightroom mobile.
