dear all,

I am using LRCLoud so as to always keep sort of automatic back-up while travelling.

Used it initially to re-edit my photos but now I'd rather use LRClassic cause more precise and customizable.

Is there a way to use same catalog for both, may I direct LRCLassic to the catalog of LRCloud ?

thank you.

eric

You can download Cloud image Files to the Classic Catalog, and upload Lr-Classic image files ( as Proxy Smart Previews from synced Collections), but the Catalogs (Cloud and Classic) are two totally separate entities and neither the same nor interchangeable.

To download Cloud images to Classic-

1) Open Lightroom-Classic on your home desktop

2) In LrC Preferences select the 'Lightroom Sync' tab

3) Check 'on' and Specify the Folder Location you want (internal or connected external drive) your Cloud files to Download.

4) In LrC turn on Syncing in the Cloud icon

thank you so much for your kind and prompt reply

just to make sure I do understand your words correctly:

the 2 catalogs are separate, one for LRCloud and one for LRCLassic

but they speak to eachother in the sense that you may upload/download to/from the Cloud with either one

BUT what I miss is whether the changes applied withnone platform are then maintained in the other one as well

if taht was the case, despite the catalogs are separate, they function (I think) as one entity

thank you for clarifying this apect to me
