Using Creative Cloude with lightroom, but also PhotoSCAPE X

Hi! I just got Adobe lightroom, which comes with the creative cloud. I must admit, I'm a bit confused, but figuring the system out. I love it for the organizational purposes. I must admit, for the type of photo editing I like to do, I LOVE photoSCAPE X. I can't figure out if I can still house my photos in Lightroom/ creative cloud, but open them with a different editing software, such as photoscape. I also know that if you mess with the photo's that are in Lightroom elsewhere on your computer, the connections may be messed up. Please help! I would LOVE to be able to use both!!

Which Lightroom are you referring to, Lightroom Classic CC (the desktop-based version that stores images locally on your hard drive), or Lightroom CC (the cloud-based Lightroom that stores all of your images in the cloud)? You have posted your question in the cloud-based Lightroom forum.

Ohhhh. I am using lightroom cc the cloud based one, but my plan also came with lightroom classic. I haven't figured out how to use that part yet. I'm sticking to the cloud.

With Lightroom CC, the only external editor available at this time is Photoshop CC. If you ever decide to start using Lightroom Classic CC then I believe you could configure it to use the other program has an external editor. I have never used the one you refer to, so I don't know how well it will integrate with Lightroom. But as long as you stick with Lightroom CC I don't believe you will be able to use it unless you do all of the work needed with it first and then import the images into Lightroom CC.

How do I move to using both lightroom classic cc and lightroom cc? Then, would they sync? Would anything I save to classic be in lightroom cc as well, and then the creative cloud by extension? Ig I can't figure it out I might have to cancel my subscription which would suck because I do like the organizational features.

That's a loaded question that takes a lot of understanding before I would advise you to jump into trying to use the two programs. Especially on the same computer. In reality, Adobe doesn't recommend it, although I do both programs installed on mine. Lightroom Classic CC downloads all images onto your hard drive and manages all work locally on your computer. To share those images with Lightroom Classic CC you must create collections of images and choose to share those collections. The collections that are shared our smart previews, which are smaller than full-sized images. Those smart previews do not impact your Creative Cloud storage allotment.

When you import images directly to Lightroom CC (the cloud-based Lightroom) they are also downloaded/synchronized to Lightroom Classic CC, so you have the full-sized images in both programs.

In either instance, editing performed in one program will affect the image in the other "location". And images that have been uploaded to the cloud are available on all mobile devices (i.e. mobile phones, tablets, etc.).

This has been an extremely simplistic explanation. It is much more complex than what I have represented it to be. If you search through Adobe tutorials and go to YouTube, you will find myriads of tutorials explaining how to use it. If you decide to install Lightroom Classic CC, I would advise you NOT to migrate your catalog at first. Wait until you have studied the tutorials and asked questions and feel that you have an understanding of what you are doing BEFORE you migrate your catalog. I have not migrated a catalog yet, and do not intend to do so any time soon. I am not any kind of an expert at using Lightroom CC. If you have more questions about using the two programs then feel free to ask them here on this forum. I won't answer because I'm not comfortable enough using the two together to freely answer them. But others are here who will help you.
