Lightroom desparetly needs to allow drag and drop. All of the other programs allow it. It feels so old and clunky to have to open an import tab.

Lightroom does support drag & drop, but you still get the import dialog when you do. That is because Lightroom is not an image editor like Photoshop, but a database-based application.
