P: Ability to see what Album a photo is in

Can you add in a way to see what album(s) a photo is in. You can do this with classic CC, but not the new cloud CC.

I have LOADS of photos, and after the migration from classic, lots of them are not in albums and are now heaped into on big imported album (because I used my hard drive folders to organise things in Classic.

So, now I have a big tidy-up job on my hands.

Also, it would be great if you could find all photos not in an album.

Yes, this would be nice.  It is related to my most anticipated (missing) feature, smart albums (collections) IT is the one thing I really miss with CC

Missing feature - a small one but annoying to my workflow!  The photo info panel doesn't show which album(s) a photo belongs to - in fact there seems to be no way at all to find this information in Lightroom CC.

I'm moving, albeit slowly, away from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC.  I also think this would be a great idea.  Not to compare, but Flickr does this.  You can see what Albums your photos belong to.

I am using Lightroom cc for managing my library of stock images and videos. The auto-tagging AI is brilliant and not only saves me time but provides me with inspiration when looking for the right asset for a project. However, I have 200000 assets and growing. I manage the libraries by keeping assets in an Album based on the source. I document the source of each image I use in a project for record keeping. In addition, for videos, I use the thumbnail, so I need to know the source (album) in order to more easily find the video file on my server. If the information tab on the full image showed in which album the asset was assigned, I would be able to manage my project documentation and in the case of videos, find the original video more easily.

I would have assumed that something as simple as this to implement would have been included in one of the many updates you have released since I originally made the comment.


The whole experience is deeply frustrating. Here's another use case:

Last week I was looking for a particular group of pics that I had not named the album properly for (not fully migrated from the auto-import when I did the upgrade from Classic). So, I had no idea how to find the set of pics.

My first thought was to describe it to see if your AI would find any related pics. No luck.

In the end, I filtered on camera type and approx date, and I found some pics out of that particular group. At this point I thought I had it sorted. I figured a simple 'right click' on one of the pics would provide me with an option to 'go to album' or some such. There isn't. I got really annoyed that I couldn't find the album I was looking for. In the end I gave up. It's a shocking oversight.

I'm starring the imported photos (one star), I then move them into an album and make them 5 star. Go back to all photos and search one star only and move the next batch to another folder and repeat. It's a work around but still time consuming - definitely need this "not in album" feature.

I think the reason why this isn't implemented is that you overestimate the ability of your AI and underestimate the OCD of your users and amount of time spent on sorting out things to _their_ liking.

Please give us the option, otherwise we may as well just rely on AI offered by Google/Apple.

It is interesting that LR Classic offers this feature but not the Cloud based LR CC!

I looked for this within a couple of minutes of using the new Lightroom CC.  It's pretty hard to organise your photos without this.

Even a simple 'Not in an album' filter would help a lot.
