P: Add Keyboard Shortcut for “None” Color Label in Lightroom

Principiante de comunidad ,

Lightroom now supports keyboard shortcuts for assigning color labels — a long-awaited improvement. However, there’s a glaring inconsistency: no shortcut exists to remove a color label (i.e., set it to “None”).

This breaks the fluidity of the labeling system. Users can assign Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue with a single keystroke, but removing a label (possibly set by mistake) requires manual menu navigation. It’s inefficient and frustrating for anyone working quickly with large batches of photos.

Please add:

  • A shortcut for “None” (e.g., 0 or Shift + 6–9)

  • And maybe a shortcut for “Purple” to complete the set

Better yet, allow users to customize shortcuts for all label actions.

This small fix would make a big difference for power users. Thanks for listening!

Greetings all,

Updates for Adobe Photography products are released. The December update has an update regarding this feature request.  You can now toggle off a color by pressing the same KBSC as you use to apply it.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by pressing [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for being so patient.

NO, IT IS THE WORST POSSIBLE WORKAROUND! The current layout has the huge advantage ot preventing turning back the color accidentally! With this new layout, with a moment of inattention you can turn – say – the already green marked picture back for not to review or develop. I won't make the upgrade, hoping that the old layout will be back. Sorry, you killed one of the most comfortable feature of Lightroom cloud.
