P: Enable photo merge (Pano & HDR) with imported images

Now that LRM has the ability to do HDR photos with the built in camera, it would be nice to also be able to produce HDR images with imported photos.  It should be fairly easy to implement since the coding is already done for the camera.

I am disappointed in the limitations with the iPad Pro version of Lightroom. Functionality such as hdr and panorama merge are missing as well as enhanced resolution dng as well as simple things like capacity to see more EXIF data. Yes, I know the desktop version (also too limited you can't even  see full exif) cand do more things but modern iPads are more powerful than my laptop and its a pity to have such shortcomings.

haha watch this space, its now 2023, 6 years later and no dice. the extra charge for desktop is absurd and I and many others hate adobe because of the utter greed their stragety revolves around.

Its been year or something since we got many really nice masks in lightroom mobile. Now its time to make Lightroom mobile great again!

There should be panorama stitch and focus stack on mobile devices. Lot of android phones are enough powerfull to do it without any problems. I have question for engenering team. Why is it not there? Just put it in mobile lightroom version and sales! Will fly. Everybody will get lightroom mobile.

Also with Samsung app expert raw which unlocks 16-bit raw you can do more with photo then with my older nikon d800.

Reading this topic it looks like we are many interested in hdr and panorama merge for IOS mobile... I'm using iPad Pro for traveling, and it would be very useful to have this feature... by now, I have to wait to return home for using desktop app.

Is there a way to create hdr from merged images? I have a drone with an AEB feature. 5 photos need to be stacked, but I'm not sure how to do it with Lr. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
or, do I need different editing software?

TIA.

That option does not exist in Lightroom for iPad. It only exists in Lightroom desktop and Lightroom Classic.

Thanks for your reply. That's a pity as I find the ipad easier to carry about.

I feel that it would be a great feature to be able to take Auto Exposure bracketed photos and merge them into an HDR photo on the mobile apps.  I haven't seen this feature yet and since I do most of my photo editing on the go, it pains me to have to wait until i get hoke to fire up my laptop, wait for Lightroom on my PC to sync with my account to get all my photos in, then merge the files.

I tend to agree with you.  While HDR & Pano's are not high on my wish list, they are high for many.  The LRM team seems to care more about adding "filter pack after filter pack after filter pack" but, stuff like "rename image on import"  isn't possible, captioning, keywording across multiple images not possible.....  etc, etc, etc.  Basic stuff.

I really think that the LRM development team doesn't understand that a significant portion of the LRM base actually wants to use LRM on an iPad Pro as a replacement to LRC or LR ......  so, they spend time on 50 more filter packs and they don't worry about the significant feature gaps between LR/LRC and LRM.

This thread has been here for years and rather than giving photographers what we're asking for they keep add video editing features to Lightroom and LRM. It's a bit annoying to not get something we've had in desktop for so long and have to return to a computer every time we want to photomerge to a pano or HDR.

Hello Adobe Community,

As a photographer, I'd like to have most (if not all) the functionalities from the Desktop version. There are already alternatives out there that can do it for mobile, so why not in the Adobe ecosystem?

HDR, Stacking, etc. Seem basic ones, also Sky, background and others are not yet there.

In Photoshop, the capabilities are totally a basic, it's truly disappointing.

Please dont be the BlackBerry of Photo editing. Stay on top by listening the consumers!
