What do you mean by "default webcam software". I believe Mixamo a custom made web application running a 3d app outputting in canvas.

open web animation standard = WebGL i.e, OpenGL [Mac users] to Direct X [Windows users] and boils down to how your system allows your web browser to animate things
the reality is GPU drivers change and Mac systems tend to be the weak link when it comes to unsupported cards
he tested a different browser so the next step is to use a different machine... ask

Thank you for your reply.
Apologies for being dumb (i'm new to this), but is this an OS issue (i'm using an old iMAC running High Sierra 10.13.6) or something i can correct in Blender or another program?

What he meant is, he doesnt sees a shadow in the Mixamo app.
Model clearly shows a show
I tried that same model and i do get a shadow with Exo Gray modelVisible shadow with Exo Gray model

Thank you for your reply 😊
And yes, I do mean it the Mixamo app, hopefully the short screenshot video I posted a couple of days ago shows that 🤞
As you're able to get shadows with the models you selected in the Mixamo app, do you have any idea why I'm not able to do the same?

Mixamo doesn't have an app it runs in the default webcam software so if you don't see shadow in your browser then try changing browsers... nothing to do with Mixamo or Adobe guys

What do you mean by "default webcam software". I believe Mixamo a custom made web application running a 3d app outputting in canvas. It should not matter if you have a certain webcam app, atleast thats what i think. I also wonder would it needs a web cam in the first place, it has no functionality to use that or is that some old code left in or so? At work i dont have a webcam and it works just fine.
I was thinking his model is to high up in 3d world space. The floor is perhaps automatically projected in the scene. But the because the model is to high up the shadows dont catch the ground.
Perhaps if he tries to reset the app,m try delete cache and cookies and try it again with that same model.character should be at 0,0,0 3d worldspace
I was looking at the old Mixamo website before the Adobe takeover. and i noticed somethign about using a camera, i also saw some of this in the code on the website, to bad we dont see those features anymore. I guess they are turned off. Though i think the code is still available in the engine.

I also see the shadow appear and disappear randomly, i never actually paid much attention to it. I was checking some models and now i dont get any shadow as well. But that doesnt matter. I know the models are jsut fine

I'm glad someone else has experienced the same as me (no shadow at all). And you're right the animated models work just fine, just no shadow 😞
For now i'm just going to use the models as there are and hope the shadow issue gets resolved 🙂

Thank you for your input. I have deleted the cache and cookies with no effect 😞

he tested a different browser so the next step is to use a different machine... ask a mate to log into Mixamo with her Windows system and see if you get the shadow then
at the end of the day, what you see in the Mixamo web page is just a preview to show [more or less] when you are downloading... the model \ animation file you actually download has zero shadow until you load it into Unity, Unreal, Iclone or Blender to run it

How spooky because before reading your post i tried Mixamo on my iPhone 7 Plus and 'bingo' it works (model+animation+shadow), see attached screenshot video 🙂
Regarding your last paragraph and assuming I've understood correctly, although the models/animations i download from the Mixamo web page using my iMac have zero shadows, they will appear when loaded into Unity, Unreal, Iclone or Blender?

And very smooth because iit doesnt need to render dozens of those animated thumbs 😉

Yes i know, i have the option myself to test both windows and osx. I noticed mixed outcomes actually. I was checking some old models from Mixamo, the rig doesnt have mixamorig in the name. At one point the character also was missing the shadow, this was on OSX. Did a refresh and back was the shadow.
I thought you were talking about the webcam settings, i didnt understand that part. But there are features "hidden"/turned off in Mixamo which actually allows usage of webcam to use for a face rig. I was checking the old website from 2013 and it shows much more features. Though when i checked some of the code, i think i still see some of those old function described.

no it is not an OS issue... the software you use to animate shadow is up to you but yes Blender is one of your better options

Awesome, thank you, much appreciated 🙂
I think my rookie mistake was assuming Mixamo models came with shadows 😞
I will watch the video and let you know how i get on 🙂
Once again, thank you for you help 🙂
