P: program error (558e76.312): Stamp Visible

Cmd+Opt+Shift+E (Stamp Visible / Merge Visible) fails with program error (558e76.312).

Additionally, dragging assets from Libraries into the canvas also fails with the same error.

This worked previously and still works in regular Photoshop (non-Beta).

Occurs even when:
- All layers are rasterized
- No Smart Objects present
- No Generative layers
- No Adjustment layers
- GPU enabled or disabled

This breaks core professional workflows using Clone Stamp, Healing, Liquify, and Libraries.
This appears to be a regression introduced in the latest Photoshop Beta update.

Place Link, and embedded have the same problems error 558e76.312, Only on Beta Photoshop working well.

With a recent update, started getting this error:
Could not complete the Merge Visible command because of a program error (558e76.312).

When pressing Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E on the top layer to collapse all layers to a new layer. NOTE: It works fine if I do this on any layer below and gives me a proper All Layer Merge which I can then move to the top so it's a simple workaround but annoying. Wasn't doing this a few versions ago.

There is an option to Learn how to fix, but I didn't see anything that worked. Seems to happen on many different images and only if I am on the top layer when I execute the command.

System Info
Current Photoshop beta (27.3.0)
Nvidia ASUS 3060 12GB OC - Driver Version 32.0.15.9174
Windows 11 - Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200
96 GB RAM
ASUS Z890-E w Intel Ultra 9 285k

The problem seems to have manifested with one of the two recent updates.

I'm getting this error as well in the Beta version. I am on a Windows desktop. Also sky replacement is not available. All of these things work just fine in regular Photoshop. I rolled back to the previous version (27.2) and that Beta works fine as well.

Hi,

Lateley i have a problem with sky replacement not working in PS Beta 27.3 it's giving me "Could not create a new document because of a program error (558e76.312)." I have latest AMD drivers installed, done clean PS re-install with removing all leftover folders, when I opened same image in stable versionit's working without any issues.

Use the command Alt+Shift+Ctrl+E a lot. During 2026 I get the message program error 558e76.312. I cannot find a answer what that means or what to do. Is it a known bug that adobe will fix soon? Cannot remenber getting errormessages before.

I have an image opened in photoshop
i drop another image into this document on top ( making a new layer )
all good..

i drop another image into this same document making a 2nd new layer ( 3 total including background )

the newest layer image will not drop, it instatnly dissappears

Which method are you using to "drop" another image into the current document?

When you look in your layers panel, is the third layer at the top of the panel? If not, drag it to the top. If you're not sure then show a screenshot of your layers panel.

What are your versions of Photoshop Beta and OS?

Without seeing a screenshot, we can only guess.

Now I get an error that there is some invisible html text, so I cant post at all. Sigh I come here to report a photoshop error, and now I have to report a post forum error. Nothing is highligted!

Stamp Visible Layer giving error when done on curves layer (which is over my image). Had it happen a few times in a row now when editing.

Could not complete the Merge Visible command because of pragram error (558e76.312).

Photoshop 27.3.0 beta release.
If I create an empty layer ontop of the curves layer, then I can do stamp visible layer.
OSX 26.2, M1 Mac.

It was not obvious from the forum error message when posting that I need to choose a topic, clicking MacOS as topic let me post.

Anyway... photoshop bug:

Stamp visible layer does not work on top of curves layer. Very annoying, I use it all the time.

the keyboard shortcut that creats a stamp visable layer Ctrl+shift+alt+e creats a program error . 588e76.312

I use this snapshot create tool and it is extreamly useful if i want to go back to an early stage in my workflow.

also the contextual aware bar seems to have disappeared and now can only use if from the edit menu the edit menu

I am unable to merge visible, Alt + Ctrl + Shift, in the latest Photoshop Beta (just downloaded today). I am getting an error: "Could not complete the merge visible command because of a program error (558e76.312)." Version 23.7.0. Windows 11.
