I am using Windows 10 and Photoshop Beta 25.11.  After I updated to 25.11 the brush size shortcut (left and right brackets) stopped working properly.  The shortcut does not adjust the brush size anymore.  It still works however in Photoshop 2024 25.9.1.

I have tried to reset the shortcut using "keyboard shortcuts".  Although it shows the proper bracket shortcut assignment the brackets do not adjust the brush size, there is no change to the brush size.

This appears to be a bug in the Beta 25.11 release.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I was using Photoshop v25.9.1 and was prompted to download and try Photoshop Beta v25.11. When I opened the program and tried to change the brush size using the keyboard shortcut, I saw I was unable to do so. I saved my work, closed the app, and opened Photoshop 25.9.1. I confirmed I was able to control the brush size using the keyboard shortcuts in that version. Just for good measure, I rebooted v25.11 and triple checked that it was in fact a bug and that I had not changed any settings which would have prevented that action.

I hear you how frustrating it is. Please find my comments in this thread from earlier today and they should lead you to an easy solution to make the brackets work again. Definitely worked for me on PC and I'm guessing there's something mighty close on Mac.  If my answer helps you, please upvote it.  Cory definitely got me started (thank you Cory!), but my answer tells you how to get to that screen he mentions and what to do when you get there.

I am having the same issue this week since updating. So far I've been using Alt right click hold mouse and move mouse right or left to resize brush. But it's extremely inconvenient still. Making my work go so slow. I keep checking 3x a day for an Adobe update that they fixed the bug.

When I try to use the bracket keys to change the brush size, nothing happens.  I have to go to the menu bar and select the brush size there.  Am I missing something

Okay everyone!  I found where Cory's suggestion is, at least for PC and it's probably similar on Mac.

Click Edit, then Keyboard Shortcuts.

Where is says "Shortcuts for" , choose "Tools" on the dropdown.

Scroll way to the bottom to see the options Cory shows: "Show previous layer boundary" and "Show next layer boundary".

I didn't want to delete the shortcuts because I don't understand what this feature is or if I might want it in the future, so I just changed the two from "[" and "]" to ";" and ":" − because colon and semicolon aren't things I use for anything.

As soon as I said "Accept" and "OK" to all of that, the "[" and "]" went back to working as making brushes larger and smaller again.

Hope this helped!

The keyboard shortcuts "[" and "]" for changing brush size in Adobe Photoshop beta 25.11.0 are not functioning as expected. This issue affects the workflow significantly, as these shortcuts are commonly used to quickly adjust brush size while working.
please make it work again.

Hi Cory!  I'd be happy to disable this feature that I don't use to get my bracket keys working again, but I could sure use step-by-step instructions on how to find and disable that on my PC.  I see the image you posted but don't know what I'd do to get to that screen or what I'd be changing once I get there (do we hit "Delete shortcut"?  I don't want to permanently get rid of something I might want later).  And I see you're a Mac person; please help us get there on both platforms.  I'm sure I'm not alone on this frustration.  Thank you, bud!
