Clarification Regarding Commercial Use of Generative AI

Explorer ,
Jun 06, 2023 Jun 06, 2023

Hello,

I've got a question about the terms of use for images created with generative AI features.

I understand that images produced using generative AI cannot be used for commercial purposes while these features remain in the beta stage.

I would like to know, however, if images that were created during the beta phase would be eligible for commercial use after the full release, or if the permission for commercial use applies only to images created with the fully released tool
Thank you and have a nice day!

In general (not a legal expert) - I would refrain from using any beta generated image for commercial use - even after the product go to general public release. There could be any number of changes made prior to public release. Id play on the safe side and use the final public release to create commercial images. Chances are you'll have a better product in the end as well.

Hi @Manuel25116822d2l5 this is a user-to-user public forum. If you really need an answer regarding beta and commercial usage, you can review this page or reach out to Adobe via the links in these pages:

Hi Kevin, thanks for the reply! I did reach out to the Adobe Generative AI team directly (Generative-AI@adobe.com) nine days ago but I didn't get a reply. I couldn't find anything about it in the link you provided.

@Manuel25116822d2l5

This was in today's Washington Post and refers to an announcement Adobe made the previous day. It seems to apply only to business customers — you didn't say if you are in this category, plus it's not out yet.

You're welcome, @Manuel25116822d2l5 . The announcement had not yet been made when you started this thread, so your timing was perfect!
