Hi all.. This never happened before but if I click on any tool above the history brush Photoshop flies up to the left and collapses. I can click and get it back but the same thing happens each time. Program is totally useless to me like this. Happens in basic and beta versions. I tried resetting the program with no luck. Probably something simple that I'm not aware of to correct this. Thanks for any advice!

It's a Sonoma bug in the released version, not the beta version. Apple fixed it with macOS Sonoma 14.1.1, released on November 7.
What is your exact version of Sonoma and are you seeing this in Photoshop Beta?

You say this is happening with both the full release and beta versions?
Can you tie the start of this issue to a psrticular event?
You say that you reset the program. Does that mean that you reset Preferences? Did you do this from the Prerences UI or manually?

Have you reset the Workspace?
Are you using more than one screen? I believe there are known issues with som Mac OS versions with two or more screens.

Does that tally with what you are seeing?

Hi..thanks for responding! Seems to be an issue since I upgraded to Sonoma OS. Now it seems to be creeping up the tool bar ladder. Magic wand tool and abobe are makin gthe program Hide. Yes I have my Samsung TV as a mirror monitor but the same thing was happeneing on just the M1 powerbook. Mirroring to my Samsung has always had quirky issues it seems. "Family Room TV" only works intermittantly. I recently hooked the TV up via an HDMI cable so its acting pretty good now.
I reset the preferences in both Photoshops from the prefs IU. I reset the workspce too.

Now its back to hiding the program if I click on any tool above the History Brush.

I can access the tool by using keyboard shortcuts like "V" for move tool, etc. But as soon as I click on these tools the program flies away into hiding mode.

I think I'll delete the programs and reload.

Thanks Jane. Do you know if it is listed in the Sonoma known issues page?
OK, I just had a hunt round and couldn't find anything.

Trevor, there's a primary post on the Photoshop (released) forum. This didn't affect the beta version.

Hi Jane... I had 14.1 and upgraded to 14.1.1 as you suggested. It worked! You're a genius!
Thanks,
Don

Trevor is on Windows, but now that he's seen the fix, he won't forget it. He's one of our top contributors!
