I have the beta-version of illustrator and photoshop on my pc suddenly. (I didn't install them) I tried to de-install them cuz they took over being the default app to open my files, which is super annoying. I don't want to switch to them cuz both application are buggy and don't work. Illustrator beta even crashes on start. The problem is that when I try to de-install the beta version over the creative cloud desktop it ALSO de-installs the normal photoshop/ illustrator version!? How do I get rid of them?

@anyrei what do you mean "the beta version just came back"? Are you an individual account or are you in a managed environment like Enterprise, Education or Teams where an IT admin may control these installs?

If not, this sounds like you have bigger issues with permissions if your uninstalled apps keep restoring. At this point its probably best to run the CC Cleaner Tool and do a clean wipe of everything, then reinstall CC Desktop app and then install your public release apps. Also go to the CC

Sadly that solution only works for a few days. Cuz as described in my problem above I already had done that and the beta version just came back a sa second version of Photoshop and took over my file extensions. I still did the whole process again: De-installed beta, reinstalled normal CC versions. This morning I started my PC, all my file extensions are broken, photoshop had the dreaded firefly update and beta versions are back -.-

I have an individual account. And thank you for your quick reply. I had automatic update turned off only for illustrator individually and that had made me think I had it turned off in general. I have turned it off now in the Desktop App! Thx!
