When I first downloaded the new version, the generative fill panel was floating. I experimented for awhile, and then closed it. Trying to figure out how to reopen it now. Thanks!

There's already a Magic Wand, but the tool that triggers Gen Fill is more like magic IMHO.
How about
'The Elusive, Confusing & Slippery Menu That Parks Itself Exactly Where You Least Want It Tool'?

The Generative Fill panel in which you can insert prompts should open when you make a selection and choose generative fill.
Generated layers and the prompts used then appear in the Properties Panel (Window > Properties) but only when a generated layer is selected .
You can also use the contextual task bar (Windows > Contextual Task Bar)
I'll move your post from the Photoshop forum to the Photoshop Beta forum where you are more likely to get discussion relevant to your question.

When I go to Window, I don't see contextual task bar as an option.

It should be down at the bottom in a separate section to the normal panels

Hi @Diane30996768gui5 can you confirm you are in the beta version of Photoshop and not the general release. You may have two copies on your PC.
