Is Photoshop Beta no longer needed?

Advisor ,
Aug 17, 2024 Aug 17, 2024

It seems the major functions in beta version have been added to regular Photoshop and Photoshop Beta has a bug where measurements suddenly appear on screen and can't be removed until the system is restarted... I just wanted to know, Is Photoshop Beta now obsolete and can be left out of the picture?

The purpose of the public Photoshop Beta is to find and report bugs to the developers so the bugs can be fixed before the feature moves into the released version. If you are interested in trying out new features, then use the Beta and report the bugs. If you need a stable version, use the released version.

Hey, @Ken Nielsen. The utility and value of PS Beta over PS are still based on individual creative choices and workflows.

The one issue you've pointed out is one the team is aware of and working on. Here is the parent thread that you can upvote & check for updates: https://adobe.ly/3yKq7p2

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

Beta software will never be obsolete as it will always be ahead of a stable release in the development cycle. The question will always be, is there something you need to use before it is released to the public that you would like to be involved with to test.
