Photoshop and immediate drain in memory when you start on a Mac

I use a 2020 iMac with 64Gb Ram and using the latest  Sequoia operating system.  My normal available Ram is about 48Gb but as soon as I load Photoshop Beta, it drops to about 22Gb.  The activity monitor shows something called ContinuityCaptureAgent which seems to be using quite a large amount of the CPU.

Does anyone know why there is this sudden drop in memory when I start PS Beta and if there is a solution?  I have tried disabling Handoff to other devices but that hasn't made any difference.

@Inspiring_brain157F I would strongly suggest to stop using the Photoshop Beta because it's a Beta for a reason. It's safe to say, that you can easily download Photoshop 2024, and since you havd 48giigs of RAM which is very healthy indeed, Photoshop 2025 should be happy with that.

I would use Adobe Cleaner from Adobe's website (not some third party website), https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html, and re-install from Adobe.com for a clean install

Currently, I am using Photoshop 2024 with no issues with it (knock on wood). I have un-install any of the Adobe Beta software. I read somewhere to in a forum not to use the Beta versions anymore!

Very many thanks for that Creative Explorer.  Using the main program instead has made the world of difference, and even with four very big pics on, it has still only used about 2Gb or ram.  Shame as I always enjoy the Beta version but I will be using the main version from now on.  Again many thanks and kindest regards.  Paul

I have both installed on my system (release version and Beta). I use the release version for serious work and the beta for testing and trying out new functionality.  I've not see any RAM issues in either, but if you do encounter potential bugs in the beta then you can report them in this forum which is dedicated to the Beta version
