Brush tool causes crash

I’ve been using photoshop for a couple years now on my laptop (it’s an acer aspire 5, not sure if that matters or not) and just recently within the last month or so, photoshop has been crashing whenever I use the brush tool, and sometimes the eraser tool (the computer itself also briefly shuts off). I have no clue why it is doing it, it doesn’t crash with anything else besides that. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I took a video of an example, it is attached. Hopefully someone can help me out, it's driving me crazy and I haven't seen anyone else who has had this same problem as me.
