Question

'Content-Aware Fill' samples all layers even though "Sample All Layers" is unchecked.

When using Content-Aware Fill Photoshop samples all layers instead of the only the layer selected, even though the check mark for "Sample All Layers" is unchecked.

This seems to only happen the preview/pre-rendering hasn't fully finished rendering (also when using Content-Aware Fill as part of an Action).
If I let the pre-rendering fully finish it does not happen.

MacOS Sequoia 15.4.1

Photoshop v26.6.1

@Christoph Mic37879663mxwj it could be a MacOS specific issue, hopefully somebody with a MacOS will see this thread and test on their system

@Ged_Traynor thank you, I'll give it a try at the end of the day.

Though as you've mentioned you're on Windows 10, it might be something MacOS-specific.

@Christoph Mic37879663mxwj I just tested in my system with Photoshop version 26.6.1 on Windows 10 and I can't replicate the issue, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
