Disable "View->Extras" permanently

Contributor ,

If I deactivate the Option "View -> Extras" because of the annoying overlays and I open a new file, it is enabled again.

Doing the same with the rulers, the setting keeps disabled.

How can I disable the "View -> Extras" option permanently?

Windows 11, PS 25.11.0

View > Extras is a global temporary toggle.

To permanently disable/enable individual components like rulers, grid etc go to View > Show.

There is also a new "layer bounds" outline that is in the options bar when the move tool is active. Click the gear icon to disable. If you ask me, this is inconsistent UI design and this function should also be in the View > Show menu. But for now this is where you disable it.

@konrad79 make sure you are making these changes without a document open otherwise this only applies to that single doc and resets when you open the next one.
