Dust and Scratches not saving

Using PS 25.11.0 on a Mac Powerbook M3 Max, OS 14.3. When I try to use Dust and Scrathes I see the effect. I can toggle with preview to see effect and original but when I click OK it reverts to the original image.

To properly assess sharpness and noise, you must view at 100%.

 

100% is a significant number. It has nothing to do with size, but means one image pixel represented by exactly one physical screen pixel.

 

All previews are calculated based on the on-screen image, for performance reasons. Zoomed out, this means a softened version of the image with intermediate values not present in the original data.

 

At 100%, you get a correct pixel-for-pixel preview.
