Gradient tool program error in 25.11

To report that the gradient tool doesn't work in the latest version of PS. When I click on the tool, I have a message "program error". The program doesn't stop, but I can't use the gradient tool.
I installed the previous version, and the tool works.

As you can see, all of the icons have disappeared. I have reset the tool multiple times, restarted photoshop, restarted the computer, etc.

I have this same issue on a Macbook Pro, Apple M1 Pro, running Sonoma 14.6.1. I've been on chat support, they took over my computer remotely and somehow temporarily fixed it. But shortly after, it went back to being buggy. I have tried installing a few previous versions to no avail. Can't use the gradient at all.

Hi, It's working fine for me. It could be you just need to reset the tool. Here are the instructions for doing that:

Let us know if that helps.

Sorry, I forgot part of my answer 😉  It happens as soon as I click on the gradient tool icon, the error message appears straight away

Thank you very much
I installed the previous version 25.9.1, and the gradient toolf works perfectly again.
So it's really linked to the new version
I got in touch with online support, which confirms that
Do you want the system info ?

Hi there, I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Does this happen when you use the Gradient Tool, or using a Gradient Preset saved in Library panel? Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

I'll move this to discussion for now. You can begin with resetting the Gradient tool itself in this case. Right-click on the Tool icon in the Toolbar menu & select Reset Tool.

If this does not help, ensure there are no stale preferences in your Photoshop. Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to back up.

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2024 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2024. old), you can later restore these preferences if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
  • Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install.

Let us know how it goes,

Thanks!
