Hilfslinien verschwinden

Liebe Community,

Photoshopversion: 24.7.1

macOS Big Sur, Version 11.7.9

Problem betrifft: Transformationsmodus.

I have been able to replicate on a Windows system running Adobe Photoshop 25.0.0 when I am in the Path Free Transform mode. During this mode, if I attempt to drag a guide anywhere, it does not retain its position after committing the transformation. Instead, the guide disappears. As @Jeff Arola is pointing out, it may not work in previous versions too, although I think it worked in some previous versions on Windows in the past (edit: it may be only Win bug as with blending modes).

However, I have found a workaround for this issue. One option is to activate the Path Selection Tool while having the path selected in the Paths panel, and then dragging the guide. Another alternative is to turn on the Show Transform Controls option when the Move Tool is active and you are working with shape layers.

For me using Transform on Paths then placing Guides and canceling out doesn't work on any photoshop version i have access to after Photoshop CS3 10.0.1 where it does work right. All the photoshop versions i tested had the latest updates as it pertains to that particular version.

Are you placing the Guides at the corners or center of the paths or just in random places as you see fit?

Hi Jeff,

thanks for your help. I have reset the preferences, unfortunately it didn't help.

I add the guides when I'm in transformation mode. The ones I created before remain after the mode. I tested a bit earlier: If I use the transformation mode exclusively to create guides without transforming the path, the guides disappear. If I change something in the path in transformation mode, for example if I move it a little, the guides remain. This problem also only occurs with the path tool. If I set a layer or selection to transformation mode and create guides without actually transforming anything, the guides remain. To be honest, I am surprised that this no longer works, because I work like this almost every day.

I would reset the Photoshop preferences and see if that corrects the issue:

Are these guides you added before going into Transform mode or added while in Transform mode?

Are you doing an actual transformation or just placing guides without doing any transformation?
