Issue with new gradients tool

Not sure if this is really a bug but I have an issue with the new gradient tool in which it cannot be adjusted after saving and reopening. Its a big and long overdue improvement on the previous tool but this issue is a real shame.

I should have mentioned this is when altering a gradient on a mask, not a gradient layer.

When you reopen the document do you have the Gradient Fill Layer icon in the Layers panel selected?

You can return to the previous behavior by choosing Classic gradient from the drop-down in the Option bar:
