I've just upgraded to Max OSX Sequoia and now having Disk Error or Permissions errors when opening psb files of off my works shared drive. It only happens with psbs I have opened, then closed and then trying to open again within that session (If I disconnect and reconnect to the servers it works). Other options are to copy to desktop and then reupload once I've done what I need to do.

  • Im running Photoshop 25.12
  • Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software
  • Its an SMB server (I dont know much more than that)
  • No isses with tifs or psds, but my work larger consists off files over 4gb so psb is needed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Macs and SMB servers have had a long and uneasy history. Problems are not uncommon in the enterprise space.

Thanks Lumi, also worth noting I've never had any issues on previous OS's with the server and Photoshop setup we have

Working directly off the server with that size of files is a problem anyway. Copy them to youre local drive.

I'm seeing some funny problems with networking to SMB servers in Sequoia, Free File Sync for one is having read errors and timeouts. Google for "Sequoia SMB problems."
