Newest versoin Curve files, .acv, are not recognized in older versions

I don't think this is a bug but more of an observation.

A saved Curve file, .acv, created in the latest version will not be recognized in some earlier PS versions.

I created a curve and tried to load it on another CPU running PS 2021. It would not load.

Oh well...

This is to be expected in any software that is updated regularly. Backwards compatibility is always the first thing to go, in order to take advantage of new technological development.

Photoshop is actually particularly forgiving in that it has forward compatibility. An old file can always be opened in a new Photoshop version. This is not the case for most other software. In Illustrator and InDesign, for instance, files usually have to be updated for the new version, and then they can no longer be opened in older versions.
