P: Enabling 'Zoom with Scroll Wheel' option causes the 'Enable Gestures' option to work incorrectly

The 'Enable Gestures' option allows users to use trackpad gestures like 'Two-finger move' for panning and 'Pinch in/out' for zooming in and out. However, if you enable the 'Zoom with Scroll Wheel' option, the gestures start to malfunction. The 'Two-finger move (up/down)' gesture, instead of panning, begins to zoom the image in and out. Essentially, both gestures end up performing the zoom function when using a trackpad.

I have an external mouse and I prefer to zoom using the scroll wheel. However, turning on "Zoom with Scroll Wheel" breaks gesture navigation on the touchpad, so that two-finger dragging only zooms and won't pan. However, pinch-to-zoom still works.

If this is by design and isn't a bug, then it's redundant and a worse experience because you can already zoom on the touchpad by using the pinch gesture, so breaking the two-finger drag just makes the experience worse with no benefit. At the very least, I would ask that there should be an option to only enable "Zoom with Scroll Wheel" for the mouse and not the touchpad.

I'm running Photoshop on a Macbook Pro, Sequoia 15.5

@CMass  Has there been any progress on fixing the bug?

Is there a specific reason you have selected when using the track pad?

That's a strange question. Let me explain. Sometimes I work from home and use a mouse to edit images. Other times, I'm away from home and have to use a trackpad. So, I switch between a mouse and a trackpad depending on the situation. I need the both features to work seamlessly together, but for some reason, they interfere with each other.

PS. Never mind. I've decided to start using Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop. Its UI, UX, and performance are miles ahead of yours. You guys have been neglecting these aspects for too long.

Hi @Eugene33462781ur54

Thank you for reaching out. It looks like every thing works properly if you don't enable the "Zoom with Scroll Wheel." For now, I would recommend just unchecking the "Zoom with Scroll Wheel" option. Is there a specific reason you have selected when using the track pad?
