Upgraded to Photoshop CC 2015 to discover the healing brush no longer functions correctly.

To demonstrate this issue simply create a new document, fill it with black, create a blank layer above it, select the healing brush (not the spot healing brush) and set sample to 'current & below' no healing on the blank layer, you will see white outlines where you have healed.

Adobe have acknowledged it, hence the 'acknowledged' banner at the top.
An Adobe employee has also stated they are looking into it (see above).

No updates since though.

I can confirm that I do not have the white outline issue with 8 bit images, only 16 bit. Shame I always work with the latter.
Also if you isolate the transparent layer you have been healing on you will notice there are additional problems to the white outlines, such as hard edged artefacts as shown here (this is visible on both 8 bit and 16 bit images):

CC 2015 - if you heal or clone on a blank layer, then apply a liquify to that layer, there is white fringing on the edges of the healed areas.

It usually doesn't appear with short, brief strokes. Going over the same area more than once almost guarantees that it will show up. My guess is that it is a bug in the real-time healing feature.

Often the first pass with the healing brush doesn't produce the results I want so I go over it again without lifting the pen. Eventually, I get the results I want, along with the white-fringe artifacts.

I have noticed that it behaves differently than before. It doesn't heal as smoothly. It often takes multiple passes (without lifting the pen) to get good results. But then the white artifacts appear. My bet is that it is tied to the real-time healing feature introduced in CC 2015.

Healing Brush / Spot healing tools are now leaving white artifacts on the edges or complete white outlines when working on a blank layer over an images. I've used this method in the past with wonderful/seamless blending and with the update and its real-time enhancements its making edits completely stand out.

it definitely still acts similar to the clone tool, it's a huge disappointment.

This particular issue was fixed in the 2015.0.1 update. If you haven't installed the update, then you should go install the update (you should be on 2015.1.2).

Chris - I have the current version of photoshop installed (2015.5.0). The issue is not just white artifacts, but any color the brush is healing. When working on a blank layer, and using the brush on an area previously cloned with the clone stamp tool, the healing brush leaves articles all around the edge. the only solution I've found is to flatten the image, which negates using a blank layer and doesn't allow for non destructive editing.
