P: I'd like to know how to disable the startup tutorial about generative ai

With Photoshop 25, every time I start up PS, an image opens on my screen accompanied by a tuorial on generative ai by Anna McNaught. How to I disable this? I don't need it and I can't find a way to get rid of it.

Can someone help me with this please?

Or are you referring to the Contextual Task Bar

If yes, you can turn it off at the bottom of the Window menu.

well, yes and no... this bar also comes up and i turned it off in the check box but each time i relaunch PS it comes back along with the video to get started on generative fill. At least this bar is only on click to turn off. I tried to resize it and lump it into the task bar of other Window items but it will not reduce it's size and again, when i restart PS it comes back

I checked prefs and the box is already unchecked. checking and unchecking did not stop the pop up with the video and menu bar.

Now you've mentioned the video, we have had at least two other people with a similar unresolved issue, and Adobe are aware of it.  So it might come down to waiting for an update that fixes it.

I'm going to just wait for the next update and see if that fixes it. By then i'm sure i will have also updated my mac OS and maybe all will be fine.

Please help with this! I was in a Zoom meeting yesterday, and Anna McNaught started talking full volume in the background (nothing against Anna). I've closed the tutorial many times, went through the whole thing first, but it will create a new project at random times and then start playing the video! Other people at work are having the same issue. It's making me want to shut down Photoshop whenever I'm not using it.

Hi,

the question here is not how to delete Photoshop or how to reset the preference, but why the tutorial is forced on the users, why isn't there a switch on it that disables starting the next tutorial? I have the same problem every times when I start Photoshop, and it is very disturbing when you have to work with the software and not interested in any tutorials. 

In addition, the user interface of the toolbar usually comes up incorrectly when the tutorial starts, as can be seen in the attached image.

I think we have established that this a bug, as it has only affected a very few people (there are 30 million Photoshop users in this world, and that's only the ones with Creative Cloud subscriptions).

I am having the same exact problem. (I am a Windows user. I have tried going through the tutorial. I have looked at Preferences, but I do not see any option to get rid of this.

I'm also having this issue. Reinstalling PS with preferences reset did not fix it, and it begins every time I open the program. I'm keeping my computer permanently muted to deal with it at this point.

It won't even let me advance the tutorial, really the most frustrating thing to not have a solution to this after a month.

@defaulthwnxwmt5u1ux Good news! After I installed the latest update to v25.1, the problem seems to have gone away. I think they finally found a solution. I've started the program at least 10 times since the update (which was released sometime last week) and the tutorial isn't popping up anymore. I'll let you know if this changes but this problem may be solved.

Sorry to hear that because I know that, despite it being small and brief, it can be extremely annoying and disruptive, especially if you're in a rush to finish something. If it's still happening to you, then you're probably not alone. All I know is that the update killed the startup tutorial for me. I'm grateful for that.

Consegui encontrar uma solução temporária:

1º - (versão do photoshop: 25.1) tentei criar duas regras no firewall do win10, uma de entrada e outra de saída bloqueando o acesso a internet do programa. Sendo assim, o programa não teria a possibilidade de baixar o tutorial. Porém, essa minha tentativa não foi bem sucedida!!

2º - Retornei para a versão do photoshop 25.0, porém o tutorial "irritante", ainda permanecia. Então, fiz o mesmo processo do passo numero 1, fui o firewall e criei duas regras bloqueando o acesso a internet do programa, uma de entrada e outra de saída. por enquanto aqui resolveu desta forma.

Espero ter contribuído de alguma forma!
