P: Multiple paths deselect when you convert them to a selection

The behaviour of paths appears to have changed in Adobe CC. Before if you had 10 separate closed paths on path layer and you select one of the paths to convert it to a selection. After you pressed the 'convert path to selection button' all of the selected paths would stay selected and all of the other paths on that path layer would stay visible.

Since Adobe CC, now when you carry out the above process and once you click the 'convert path to selection button' it deselects all of the selected paths and all of the other paths are no longer visible meaning you have to go back to the path palette, re-select the path layer and then reselect all of the paths again.

This wastes a massive amount of time because what if the purpose of converting a group of selected paths was so that I can then apply a stroke to them? I now have to go back to the paths palette, select the path layer and then re-select all of the paths so that I can apply the stroke. That becomes a serious issue when you have 40 paths that you want to stroke. Why has this behaviour been changed? It worked perfectly before. Please can someone explain why the paths behaviours have been tampered with and whether anything is going to be done to fix this problem. It is seriously upsetting my work flow.

There is already a topic on this issue on the Adobe Community PS forum here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/61091...

Regards

An extremely frustrated technical illustrator.

This issue should be fixed in the latest release of Photoshop CC: https://blogs.adobe.com/photoshop/2017/10/get-the-goods-announcing-updates-to-photoshop-cc-dimension...

Hi,

Any news on whether this change in behaviour is a bug/mistake and whether it will be rectified in a future update?

I am also frustrated by this new CC behavior with selecting paths. I am obliged to continually reactivate the paths palette with every path I want to convert--this means LOTS of extra clicks, and a big time sink on my projects. I have gone back to using CS6, and so my $49/month has no return on my investment. I will probably drop my CC subscription if I need to resort to CS6....!

I notice that even with the latest PS CC (2014) update that this issue is still to be resolved. So that's four + months and still no effort has been made to correct an issue that was working fine in previous PS 6 and every other version before that. Is anyone at Adobe actually going to communicate with us and explain what the situation is? Is this going to be sorted out or brushed under the carpet and forgotten about.

Any update on this or are the mods going to simply delete this message like the previous two. You might see this issue as being insignificant but it is a very real drain of my time when trying to complete what used to be an easy task. It has been over 5 months since this issue was reported and nothing has been done to fix the problem even after a major update release. Can someone at Adobe at least give us some feedback as to whether this issue is going to be fixed instead of just deleting my posts and ignoring the situation.

For a company that has monopolised the software that I have to use on a daily basis your customer service is quite frankly a disgrace. Sort it out Adobe....

Another major update and this bug is still there... When is Adobe going to fix this or even have the common decency to reply to me as a fully subscribed CC customer and explain why it has still not been fixed?

I was hoping this update would fix this problem but is still not working.
When using pen tool to make path multiple paths can be made but when the turn to selection button is clicked only the last path made is turned to a selection. In previous versions all paths made would turn to selection.

Yes Bradley, every time I receive an Adobe survey / questionnaire, I mention that I would happily recommend their products to others if they would fix this glitch!  Still battling with the time sink it creates!

I am a new subscriber to CC 2017 and am appalled that there would be such disfunction this far down the Photoshop line! I have been a Photoshop user since version 1 and can't believe at this point I would have to do such a workaround to make my silhouettes work!

OK - I am now recently experiencing this. I used to be able to make multiple paths on an image, create a new work path, then simply CMD click on it and make it an active selection. Now they just disappear when I do that and I cannot make them active selections AT ALL. And I'm in the middle of a composite for a client.
