MacOS Sequoia 15

Photoshop 2024 and Photoshop (Beta)

Top menu not working after opening camera raw filter from Photoshop, making an edit and going back to Photoshop.

Steps to reproduce
Open an image in Photoshop, make edits as usual

Select Filter > Camera Raw Filter

Make an edit, like adding a Vignette
Click OK to go back to image
Click on any item in the top menu - nothing is clickable

Must force quit application and reopen for menu items to be clickable again

ok, I think I found a trick to unlock photoshop menus. After opening camera raw and going back, I clicked on the "library" item in the right panel and the menus magically unlocked... or before starting camera raw go to "library" and once you go back the menus worka.png

Hi All! While the team is investigating this, please use this quick workaround when you see this issue.

  • Simply press CMD + TAB to focus away from Photoshop and into any other application, then return to Photoshop.

Let us know if this helps. Thanks!

Hi, I've installed the beta version. The same issue is occuring. Top menu freezes when I use camera raw filter and liquify. I created the doc you requested with system info, but I do not see an option here or in direct messages to upload or attach.

I have tried the Beta versions 26.1 and 26.2. I've tried Photoshop 25.12 and thern tried 25.11. 25.11 is the only one that does not give me the poblem of disabling the menus.

Had the same issue with menubar disabling after ACR.

Just updated to PS 26.1 - and the problem still here, menubar doesn’t work after ACR.

Thats pity, that the issue wasn't solve in 2 months.

The only solution that worked for me is using 25.11 version.

Hey all,

I was on with the Adobe Team a couple of weeks ago going through about everything they could think of on ACR on my MacBook Pro, disabeling the top menu bars. We did discover a quick work around. After making your edits in ACR on a Mac, do a command-tab to another open application and the right back to Photoshop and all the menus work again. I hope this helps until they figure out what the problem is and fix it.

Hello!

I ran into a problem. When I turn on Photoshop, the top panel stops working after a couple of minutes (FILE/edit/IMAGE/layer groups, etc. To get rid of the problem, you have to restart the program. But the error occurs again after a couple of minutes.

What version of macOS are you using?

Is your Mac apple Silicon or Intel?

Are you opening files into Photoshop using Camera Raw before the Menu bar stops working?

As many users of PS on mac, I struggle for months with this issue. I would have expected from Adobe a much quicker fix. This is absolutely not professional. I am paying everymonth my fees and would expect a better customer service. I guess I am not the only one thinking that way. Advices from the community are not always helpful nor appropriate and, anyway,  they cannot replace a technical support from Adobe's engineers. Extremely disappointing .

Bonjour,

Hi everyone,

I think I solved this issue in uninstalling completely all my Adobe suite except Creative cloud, I even uninstalled the ongoing settings and then clean up my Mac with CleanmyMac from Macpaw, to be sure to remove also the leftovers. Then I have reinstalled the complete updated suite fron creative cloud. I did that on November 24 and Photoshop is working correctly so far !

The suggested workaround of shifting focus to another application via cmd-tab does not work here.

Try starting another Adobe application like Adobe Bridge, then go back to Photoshop and see if the Menu bar works.

Starting Bridge unfreezes Photoshop but editing one image in Camera Raw immediately freezes the Photoshop menus again here.

If it helps with diagnosis, I find I can open one image in Camera Raw and return to Photoshop without menus freezing but a second image will freeze the menus every time. It makes no difference whether I complete the edit in Camera Raw with 'open' 'done' or 'cancel'.

Bonjour,

Aidez moi svp

Je suis sur MAC.

Merci
