P: PS 26.5 Droplets Could not complete the Create Droplet command because the file was not found.

When I create a droplet in Photoshop 2025, it creates a folder instead of an EXE file. What is the solution?

DROPLETS WORKING IN THE BETA VERSION!!! I'm now able to make a Droplet with the Beta version 26.11.0. But still not fixed in the current version 26.10. Install the beta and move on, but the next regular update should be the end of this it looks like.

You are noone to me to be telling me what to do or not to do especially I wasnt even talking to you! If you cant do the same in Bridge as you would with droplets the only problem is you and there is nothing Adobe or other forum users can do to help, just learn more!

PS 26.8.1

OS 15.5

I can not create a Droplet. When I try to save it out, it gives me this error.

Could not complete the Create Droplet command because the file was not found.

Anyone have a fix?

That's not the issue for many of us.
It's that we cannot even CREATE a droplet; let alone RUN a droplet without a setting workaround.

C'mon ADOBE, APPLE, get your stuff together!

There is no fix as of now. The only way to create a Droplet now is in macOS 15.3x or earlier. If've you've upgraded to macOS 15.4 or later you can no longer create a Droplet.

M-H you're getting a lot of hate because you're off topic with Bridge and your telling people how to manage their updates and you're being rude.

Been using Droplets for a long time now, but since Sequoia 15.5 the droplet facility in Photoshop has stopped working all together.Screenshot 2025-07-15 at 17.31.47.pngScreenshot 2025-07-15 at 17.33.37.png

can someone please help solve this or find a work around.

I have tried the system Privacy&Security  settings but this does not work on my Mac M2.

Workarounds are a vital and on-topic part of any bug report. Adobe has acknowledged this issue and there really isn't anything to discuss, beyond explaining and offering possible ways around the problem to those who don't know.

I get that there is a need for workarounds until it's fixed, but neither bridge or batch processing is a long term answer to droplets not working. And it's not about "hurting our feelings", it's about being, again, rude and snarky. It's unnecessary. You weren't just providing a workaround, you were telling people that if they have a problem with using Bridge or other workarounds it's that they don't know how to use PS, which is condescending and unnecessary. It does not promote community here with that kind of attitude.

Droplets need to be fixed. Adobe needs to respond. Neither of those things is happening, so I am going to persist. Why is this long standing function broken? Is Adobe looking at a fix? If droplets are going away, what is the answer? Currently you can't save templates in "batch" so anything you do that requires a save as or specific folder etc needs to be done manually every single time, and that is not an answer. We here would like answers and real solutions. Thanks

What purpose does continued angry ranting serve? Adobe knows. Its a bug. I'm not sure what else there is.

It's a few months later, and I can't create a droplet either. Latest versions of everything. Thankfully I still have a PS 2020 from 5 years ago on my machine. Never have any problems with that version.

On a separate note, I switched to DaVinci a few years back for video. I spend so much less time deep in forums... everything just works.

I could not agree more. Tired of always feeling like the beta tester with Adobe. Let's stop with the capitalism and go back to making top-tier creative tools. I was in such an amazing creative mood this morning, and now it's all gone. I've been "researching" this bug for an hour with no resolve. We're not all hobbyists who enjoy finding these workarounds. There's enough of that on set.

Bugs - that's all Adobe has. This has been an issue for a long time and still not fixed? Why do we pay for these APPS that don't work? Someone needs to be fired over there and get competent people who know what they are doing!

Or just remove the feature so no one wastes time researching why it doesn't work!

@ExUSA you said "Adobe knows. Its a bug." but do they really?  Other than the one reply from Sameer K; "We're able to recreate this on macOS v15.4. I've shared it with the team for review & comment." but it's been crickets ever since. A lot of the anger here is because there has been no other acknowledgement or reples since April 11, 2025. It's still not on the known issues page. We still don't know if Adobe is working to fix it or has given up on Droplets all together. So yes, we're gonna keep our angry ranting up with every new update that doesn't address the issue.

Interesting side note. As I was searching Adobe Support once again for anything else discussing or acknowleding this issue, I discovered that you can make a Preflight Droplet from Acrobat. So I tried it to see if that was still working and it is. The difference could be that the Acrobat Droplet doesn't have the same .8BDR file that Photoshop fails to create when saving the Droplet. Perhaps it's just this one file that Apple started blocking?

An Adobe employee acknowledged this. Most bugs are not on the known issues page. Continued whining isn't going to get it fixed any faster. Just keeping it real.

I cannot agree more. Adobe has acknowledged the problem. There must be something preventing it from being an easy fix. Constant complaining about does little to get the fix sooner. Everyone who uses droplets is 1) aware that there's a problem, 2) just as anxious as the next person for a fix, 3) is helpless to do anything other than complain about Adobe.

If you don't like Adobe, or feel your workflow cannot exist without droplets, then look for an alternative. Otherwise, be cool and wait for Adobe to fix the issue.

Fair enough @ron53 , you're right and I think this thread has covered every possible angle at this point. I would still say this is worth adding to the known issues page as it's a broken feature vs just a bug. That would save a lot of people time when they start run into the problem for the first time.

An Adobe employee aknowledged this and then Adobe has said nothing. We will whine all we want to. This is the place to do it. If you don't like it you can exit the thread. This is an important feature for many of us and it is not unreasonable to want answers and fixes, neither of which we are getting.
