I'm hitting a hard, repeatable, crash. Happens every time I attempt to select a shape layer, with the shape arrow tool that is within a folder with a disabled layer shape mask on it.
They get the highest priority, generally, so it will likely go out with the next release. Unfortunately I can't speak to our release schedule beyond that.
i'm running photoshop 14.1.1 and still get this crash. Whats even more annoying, once you experience the crash all your shape layers get corrupted and cause a crash every time you need to adjust them.
I can't begin to explain how frustrating it is when designing a UI that is made out of shape layers!!! you have to redraw a new shape over the corrupted version to continue.
I have sent a crash report every time to Adobe so you will see the amount of times this is happening.
There are some other problems with vector shapes, introduced in 14.1, that we are still working on. But the particular problem discussed here was solved with 14.1.
Jeanne Rubbo, This IS NOT fixed as you mentioned above. I cannot move a path with the direct selection tool without the program crashing. Kind of hard to get any work done when my entire document is paths. It worked until about an hour ago, and now I might as well delete this file because it's useless at this point. It DOES NOT work. Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash, Crash - Did you get all my crash reports?
The crash mentioned in this thread is fixed. The crash you're encountering is a different crash that we are working on fixing and yes, we are getting the reports. The workaround is to make sure your shapes are on whole pixel values (as opposed to fractions of pixels). This is not a 100% fix, but might help the situation until we can release a fix.
the file was updated a little since I made the screencast, but if you use path selection tool, set it to select All Layers, the red triangle should cause a crash, but blue won't - assuming this is the same bug.
