P: Snap does not work when resizing proportionally

To resize proportionally, one has to hold down the Shift key while moving a corner handle.
Unfortunately, this disables the snapping to smart guides: when view>snap guides is active, resizing a layer is supposed to auto-align to the edges of other layers, but it is not the case when doing it from a corner handle while holding down shift, a common practice.

Shift-resizing a middle handle does respect the wanted snapping behavior.

CTRL is the shortcut supposed to disable snapping, not Shift.

We have 2022 and it's still not fixed! This MUST be a feature! I am creating moodboards and want to paste images... and I can't snap them when trasforming them in the aspect ratio. What kind of odd behavior.... PLEASE fix this.

Jesus Christ, it's been years and years and still this hasn't been fixed. Why are we paying hundreds per year again?

You are kidding me. This still hasn't been fixed? I had been using Affinity Designer since the beginning of my graphic design journey. And I just decided to free try Photoshop. This is such a basic basic feature and something that has been requested by users since 2012 and not yet been delivered! Wow. I really want to learn and use both software, but Photoshop seems so primitive in many things. (Like Cmnd + T, resize, Return just to resize a component each time?!)

@Yaseen Nau you can set the Move's option bar tool to "Show Transform Controls"  all the time, no need for Ctrl+T.

Just double-click to commit.

Is this still not fixed or am I missing something?

Current behavior Cmd+T, holding any corner handle of object/image = all snapping turned off

Desired behavior = snap like normal to smart guides, user guides etc.

It seems to work from center handles, but this isn't ideal.

11....years..... this is just absolutely sad. How many times have they said "we're looking into it" & "the bug will be fixed..." People are paying a good amount of money for these programs, and this is such a small fix that would have a major impact. Probably a 5 minute fix....but aparently that takes over 11 years, who knows if it will ever happen. Super disappointing and frusturating. Come on Adobe.....

I don't know if acknowledging the bug somehow also marks it as complete, but if any adobe engineers use their own products, surely they would come across this on a monthly basis at the very least. It's been well over a decade, and I still can't resize snap while maintaining the aspect ratio.

Please fix this. If not regarded as a basic feature, call it a quality-of-life feature. Clearly people are asking for it.

@aqdrk Not sure why this is "embarrassing". It's a feature request that didn't make it.

See the reply from  psteamscribe from 2020:

"According to the code, this was actually the way Transform was originally designed, way back in the day. The proportional case NEVER snapped. So this is not technically a bug, but rather an old design choice".

It snaps correctly when moving edges independently. Makes sense.

It does not snap when aspect ratio is constrained. Again, that makes sense to me. The edges are now locked to each other, so you could end up with 1 pixel off in opposite directions. Which one should take precedence?

If you do need the resized shape to snap, the move tool will do that once transform is executed.
