P: The swatches panel's scrollbar is disabled when using the color picker.

The swatches panel's scrollbar becomes disabled when using the color picker.
My solution is to resize the swatches panel when using the color picker. It's not frustrating, but it's a problem that some users might not figure out.

Before resizing:

Image is not available

After resizing:

Image is not available

After resizing the swatches panel (while the color picker is open), the swatches panel's scrollbar becomes enabled again.

You can scroll swatches with the Color Picker open? Can't make that happen on my Mac.

You need to resize the swatches panel (while having the color picker open). Once you do that, the scrollbar becomes enabled.

I guess it's a small bug.

Even after resizing the palette, it won't scroll on Macintosh (different rules for event handling).

And while a modal dialog is up, it shouldn't scroll at all on either platform. The bug is that it scrolls on Windows.

I think that it could be a nice feature :)
If I have many swatches, I don't scroll first, then open the color picker.
I open the color picker and then look for the color. Seems a more natural behavior to me

This worked in CS4 on both platforms, so I went ahead and logged it in our bug database.

This issue seems to have sneaked in again in PS 14.2 (Windows 7 64bit). Worked fine in previous versions of PS CC.

It's quite a major workflow issue. Most of Photoshop's color selection happens from modal dialogs (even nested dialogs; ie. Layer Style -> Gradient -> Color Picker) and so swatches needs to be scrollable to make sense even when a modal dialog is open.

This was fixed but it looks like there's a subtle thing going on with the Windows side. Here's a workaround in the meantime:

While you have a modal dialog open, if you resize the panel just a bit (drag the bottom of the panel down just a tick) then the scrolling will start to work.

While editing the layer styles, the swatches palette is not scrollable. So if I'm looking for a color that is at the end I have to exit the layer styles, scroll down until the desired color, then enter the layer style again. That's way to complicated. PS CS5.1, OSX 10.7 Please fix it! Thx. c
