Photoshop 26.4.1 Keeps Crashing After 1 Minute of Use

Community Beginner ,

Since updating to Photoshop 26.4.1, the app crashes consistently after about a minute of use. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing — whether it's editing an image or just navigating through menus, it freezes and closes unexpectedly.

I’ve already tried:

  • Restarting my computer

  • Resetting Photoshop Preferences

  • Reinstalling the app

  • Disabling third-party plugins

Nothing has helped so far. I also found other users experiencing the same issue, so it seems like this might be a broader problem with the update.

Please let me know if there's any known workaround or if Adobe is aware of this issue. It’s really affecting my daily work.

I wish I could help but I have a similar problem, except that I don't even get one minute of use. I've tried all of the above. I even tried restoring from Time Machine. I get as far as the splash screen and then Photoshop shuts down.

Do you get an error message? If yes, please post the message word-by-word.

Please try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

If it helps, you can check out the steps suggested here:   https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

Take a look especially point 7 in the "Troubleshoot GPU and Graphics driver" section.

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, NOT the Game Ready version.

If this all doesn't help, we need more informations about your system. Maybe you can post your Photoshop system info. In Photoshop goto Help > System Info and hit the copy button. Then paste the entire informations into this thread.
