P: CS5 - can't zoom while using polygonal lasso in full screen mode

In Photoshop CS4 the user is able to move the image around, and zoom in and out while using the "Polygonal Lasso tool". This feature continues to work even when a point or more has been selected. This feature is no longer available in CS5. The image now locks into place with limited image scrolling, and zero zoom capabilities. Can this setting be changed in version CS5 to mirror the capability of CS4?

Works correctly in CS6.

Sounds like you're referring to using the mouse wheel to zoom and pan while using the lasso tool:

Try it in the the Photoshop CS6 beta and let me know if it works as expected:

Not mine. Thanks for the help though.

That's what I've been doing. So far it works just the same as it always has.

Try selecting points, but don't complete the selection, and try to zoom or scroll

I'm having no trouble panning or zooming in full screen mode while using the poly lasso tool in CS5. Again, I don't think that has changed, and I'm not sure why you're having trouble.

True, it should not be different. But it is. The difference is once points have been selected with the tool, CS5 installed on the same computer as CS4, locks the image into place while in full screen mode. I am no longer able to zoom, and scrolling is limited to incremental shifts while the tool is held near the edge of the screen. This sucks. This is not the case in CS4. While selecting points you can still shift the image with great freedom and zoom in and out, with or without an apple magic mouse. This has been an issue on multiple versions of CS5, and on multiple laptops and a computer. In my case I have a Macbook Air with software downloaded just yesterday. I also find the issue on my imac at work, and an older macbook pro. CS4 does it, CS5 does not. Is this a setting I can change? Or a regression of capabilities? I would like to know before I upgrade again and lose more functionality.

That shouldn't be any different, and I can still zoom and scroll around my image while using the polygonal lasso.

What OS version are you using?

And have you installed all the updates for Photoshop?
