Photoshop 25.11.0 release

Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5042099)

Tried to copy text from Microsoft word.

In Photoshop I created  New File, however, PASTE under Edit was grayed out.

Based on my testing, the Type tool must be active, and the text or a new line for text must be in editing mode. Merely having the Type tool active or selected in the Toolbox will not effect any changes.

Hi @jamesb65064337, I'm using Windows 10 with 25.11.0. Cutting and pasting from Word to Photoshop works, except the Type Tool must be selected (active) in order to paste into a new document. I don't think it was ever possible to cut plain text from Word, or anywhere, and have it automatically paste into a new document in Photoshop. The function doesn't work the same way a cut-and-pasted screenshot works when it's held in the clipboard. Or am I missing something you are trying to do? BTW, are you using the legacy New Document interface?

Please be aware that if you reset your preferences according to the instructions above, it will also remove any unsaved actions, brushes, swatches, and everything else. You need to back up your preferences first if you decide to do that.

try this first: copy from Word, then paste into a browser URL field, copy again, then see if you can paste into Photoshop.

I'm not in my office now, but will check going from Word to Photoshop directly when I return.

Hey there. Sorry for the trouble. I'll need more details to help you figure this out.

Would you mind sharing the screenshot or the video recording of the event?

Try resetting your preferences, and let us know how it goes.

Press Ctrl +K. Click on "Reset Preferences on Quit" in the "General" tab and press OK to confirm. Press OK to close the Preferences window. Restart Photoshop.

Check here for the steps to reset Photoshop preferences. https://adobe.ly/3STIuid
