Question

Right click not working in Photoshop with Wacom pen after recent updates

I cannot right click properly with my Wacom Intuos Pro pen anymore in Photoshop or Photoshop Beta. Both are fully updated, my computer is up to date, everything is fine. I can still right click in other Adobe programs like Illustrator and InDesign as expected.

I'm not totally sure when this happened, but it was very recent, within the last week. I think this bug may have been introduced with a Photoshop Beta update (26.9), because I don't remember updating regular PS (which I use most of the time) when this suddenly became a problem. I had recently updated PS beta to the most current version when I noticed the issue. Today, I updated regular PS to the most current version (26.8) with hopes it would fix the problem. It did not.

For reference, I use the bottom button on my wacom pen as a single left click, and top button is set to right click. With the current bug, the top button behaves like a single left click, same as bottom button. All my settings are correct in Wacom app and driver is up to date.

PS behavior - cannot right click on the layers in the layers palette (I use this all the time to create smart objects, etc), can sometimes (with certain tools) right click on the document itself ... i.e. with brush tool, right click does bring up the brush menu correctly ... however, certain tools don't behave, like spot healing brush only flashes the menu and it won't stay open.

Please review all areas/tools for ability to function properly because I don't have the time to go through them all. PS and PS beta should respect my Wacom settings. Thank you.

@stunning_scientist5FC4 I can confirm the issue as well, latest Wacom driver with Photoshop version 26.9, I normally have the buttons set to default so never noticed the issue

I've checked this with my Wacom Intuos and I configured the upper bottom as right click and the bottom as double click.

And this configuration workes as it should.

Screenshot from the German version (Doppenklick -> double click, Rechtsklick -> right click).

But when I configured the bottom button of the pen as right click and the upper click as a single click it doesn't work.

I'm not sure if it's Photoshop or the tablet driver that here doesn't work. I've the latest available version of the Wacom driver (6.4.10-3) installed.

At the moment I don't have the time to take a look closer to this. I used this configuration above since I worked with a tablet.

@stunning_scientist5FC4 if nobody else comes along to check, I'll check when I get home from work, I have the same tablet as you

That does not help, but thanks anyway. I believe this is an actual bug. Can someone with a Wacom tablet check this?

Try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

See here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences
