Text selection still does not work

Does anybody know when Adobe will allow you to select a text layer? It's been years since they have fixed this bug. In the meantime, can anybody suggest an alternative to Photoshop where you can add and manipulated text over an image?

Type layers are working fine for me.

• How do you create your Type layers — click and type (point text) or drag and type (paragraph text)?
• How are you selecting them — in the Layers panel or with the Type tool or with the Move tool?
  What happens when you try?

Please show your Layers panel. Resize it so we can see all of the layers.

You can do this in Photoshop. We need to help you find out why it's not working for you.

Nothing happens when I try. It is a known bug that Adobe has failed to fix, at least on my version. I am using 2023. I know PS is not designed for simple text compositing. Should try using Express?

Can you record what's happening on your screen using Loom or similar so we can see what you are seeing?
