Pencil and brush options worka as intended. Erase tool will paint with foreground color. Background Eraser tool erases but may be using settings for brush. Dodge or Burn tools do not work at all. Actually the only tool options that seem to work correctly are the Pencil and Brush tools.

Or, If you'd like to test this: Create a new rgb document. Fill a layer with a nice taupe (hex: 958972) color. Create a path, convert a marquee to a work path or draw one with the pen tool. Hit "D" for default colors on your keyboard (black foreground/white background colors). With that path selected in the Path palette, hamburger menu>Stroke Path. Choose the tool you'd like to use to stroke the selected path... and it will probably not work. šŸ˜ž

n Photoshop 2023, 2024 and 2025 the Stroke Path dialog settings do not match the painting tool that is specified.

For example, to stroke with the Mixer Brush Tool in Photoshop 2024 and 2025 select Healing Brush in the Stroke Path dialog.

If you want to be sure your stroking a path with your desired painting tool, first draw out your path, select your painting tool, then press Enter/Return.

This is the case under Windows with v26.1.0 as well. It's only with the panel menu; the icon at the bottom of the panel works as expected, as does pressing Enter with the desired tool selected. This was also an issue with v25.

The palette icon options on the bottom seem to just remeber the last settings selected. IE: if I stroked the path using the brush tool it would use the brush tool. But having selected dodge or burn options still do not work ether from menu or palette icon..
