Unable tio export "save for web" (Photoshop)

When I use the save for web feature in Photoshop, it stops working after a few uses, simply pressing the shortcut or selecting save for web (older versions) in the menu does nothing. I have to restart the app and then it works again for a while.
I thought the new version would solve it, but alas, it doesn't... it's even more common

This is connected to a bigger issue where some modules stop working after Photoshop has been running for a while - most notably Camera Raw (ACR). These other modules throw various error messages but SFW just stops responding without any errors. These modules all stop working at the same time - when one stops, the others stop too.

Basic functionality works, e.g. in actions, but the interface/dialog doesn't come up.
