Same issue and it's 2022 and I'm running a new update. Photoshop hates HEIC and crashes every time. Why don't they fix this?!

Is this still broken from 6 months ago, or did it break again? I can't open HEIC files in PS 21.2.4

I just had this come up this morning.  HEIC file, went through the whole process of updating becuase I thought it might be the version I'm running.  Completely up to date, still crashes whenever I open an HEIC file.  I assume that means it's still broken.

Version 22.1.0 on an iMac under Big Sur - HEIC opened fine just now.

Had repeated crashes today with HEIC files, which I created by scanning. Each scan crashed AFTER saving the file, but Photoshop cheerfully reopened and carried on each time. Afterward, I tried to open the HEICs for editing and they failed. But when I used Preview to convert to PNG, Photoshop thought they were just fine.  Catalina 10.15.5 and Photoshop CC 21.2.0

Me, too. Same situation. Apparently, .heic are not supported, though I don't know why it's suddenly a new problem. This is a game changer for me if they can't adapt. I take a lot of photos on my iPhone. Right now, I'm trying to see if I can roll back the update.
