24.5 Crashing on Gaussian Blur

I have a simple Action which calls for user input to Gaussian Blur - each time I run it it hangs my system - win10 pro up-to-date, GeForce 2060 with 4 GB.

Anybody having similar problems ?

What have you done for all-purpose trouble-shooting so far?
Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

Is there something »noteworthy« about the affected images (pixel dimensions, bit depth, …)?

Thanks for getting back - I reset everything, reloaded Photoshop tested the Action on other images that have nothing special about them and that I have used for developing Actions countless times. So rather than waste time I took a different approach that gave an acceptable outcome. Please consider this query CLOSED.

If someone else schould, in the future, experience a similar problem and they find this thread »I took a different approach« does not seem likely to help them, so maybe you could elaborate a bit.
