3D effect giving rounded inner corners not sharp like the outer corners.

Hi, when I apply a 3D effect the our corners are sharp but the inner corners become round, this look very unsightly/ugly and contrary to the effects look.

Is there any way to change this other than manually drawing the 3D or patching the inner corners?

Why does this happen, whats the logic mechanics of this effect?

Thanks for the reply, I worked out the only way to get clean lines was to manually build the 3D effect, even in Illustrator, the vector 3D effect on text like Arial MT was poor.

In Photoshop I applied a 3D effect (bevel effect) and patched the corners with pen drawn corners.

Can't seem to edit the post to correct typo's so...

"when I apply a 3D effect the our corners"

"our" should be Outer.

...and "whats the logic mechanics of this effect?" should be what's the logic/mechanics of this effect?

Outside layer style effects will round. Photoshop does not have controls for layer style like it does for shape layer strokes.  Its the way Selections expand at corners.
