I have had photoshopcc for about two months now.

Recently I was assigned a project to create a 3D image of fruit.

When I open photoshop cc in my I see the 3D bar right next to view.

Whoever I can not use the 3D bar or text.

No matter what I do I cant create a 3D text .

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

I have this issue also in PhotoshopCC 2018.  I am working on an iMac and I no longer have the 3D in the option bar and all menu items that apply to 3D are greyed out.  I can open a file that I created in the previous version with 3D text and can edit it as well as adding new 3D text to the older files.  On newly created files in this version I cannot.  In the files created in the previous version the 3D is in the Option bar.

I think I have just found the issue on my end.  It appears that when I created a new document I didn't notice that it was defaulted to CMYK for the color mode.  I created another new document using RGB and now the 3D functionality is there as it was before.

Hi Gerald - thanks for coming back and updating. Yes CMYK would stop the 3D feature

Can you go through the steps you've taken to try to turn a document into 3D? Per Paul Trani's video, he simply took an already-open document, opened the 3D panel, had the source as the selected layer into a 3D Extrusion and clicked Create.
