8BF file not recognised in PS 2022

I placed an 8BF file (Spherify) into the PS plugin filter folder and re-started Photoshop but it is not showing up under the filters menu. Spherify compatibility info says:-

"Any host capable of running Adobe Photoshop 64 bit compliant plugins"

It also says it is compatible with Windows but no mention of Macintosh.

Will this 8BF file only be recognised on Windows OS?

If this is the Richard Rosenman plugin you're referring to (https://richardrosenman.com/shop/spherify/), it's Windows only. To the best of my knowledge, 8BFs aren't Mac-compatible.

Thank you. I was hoping PS would see it as an Adobe file. Pity, Spherify appears to be a very nice addon.
